FOX NEWS: Should Schools Do Random Drug Testing of Students? May 20, 5:48 pm EST

The American Academy of Pediatrics votes no. The President of the United States votes yes. And then there are schools, school boards, counselors, communities and parents–and their votes vary.

Los Angeles Times today published a report that shows more middle and high schools are considering to randomly screening students for drugs. At this point less than 5 percent of American high schools have such programs and testing is more common in schools throughout Texas, Florida, Kentucky and parts of California. Federal funding for school drug testing increased 400% between in three years. The Bush administrators is requesting $17.9 million for the fiscal year 2008.
