It Turns Out Our Daughters ARE Listening!

Posted: August 18th, 2007 by Michele Borba

Oh the messages young girls are exposed to these days: role models like Paris, Lindsay, and Britney, fashion magazines featuring super-thin women, reality TV shows and ads that push “what you own is more important than who you are.” Parents need tools to help their daughters grow strong and confident from the inside-out.

I’ll be sharing tips on the Today Show (Monday, August 20 airing at 9:30 am) that will help moms and dads empower their daughters and defy those negative messages. I hope you join me!

By the way, the most promising statistic I uncovered in researching this topic is one from a Girl Scouts study. Read this carefully then pass it on to other moms:

91 percent of girls ages eight to nine go to their mothers for advice. Use your influence moms!! Your daughters are listening (even though it sure might not appear as though they do sometimes!)
